Swampcandy Plays The Tap

Join us for great music, great craft beer, and great people. We're doing something special here and want you to be a part of it.

Swampcandy is a band that has a crowd pounding their fists through tables one minute and sitting silently on the edge of their seat the next, Swampcandy is dirty and sweet, brash and thoughtful, simple and complex. It’s true stories that are made up just for you. It’s pig drinkin’, whiskey eatin’, foot clapping’, hand stompin’, american music. Their roots are fermented in American mud, primitive blues, pre war folk sounds, field hollers, gypsy jazz, and ragtime. Steeped in influences from Robert Johnson to Radiohead. Their sound is distilled in a boiler of mercurial energy swirling with tempo changes, dynamic peaks and valleys that hold the ear and refuse to let go.

Darla Plays The Tap

Join us for great music, great craft beer, and great people. We're doing something special here and want you to be a part of it.

Darla is an 8-piece progressive funk group from Philadelphia. The band’s sound is a melding of its raw origin in the Philly basement scene and keen compositional focus on feeling the groove. At its core, the Darla sound is driven by a powerful horn section that wields a lyrical and catchy sense of phrasing. Their efforts are matched by a jarring and methodical rhythm section that has been described as ‘Steely Dan with Dave Grohl on drums.'

Darla has shared the stage with the likes of George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, KNOWER, The Disco Biscuits, George Porter Jr. (The Meters), Kamasi Washington, Bill Laurance, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, and Cory Henry & the Funk Apostles. The band works closely with the legendary engineer and member of The Butcher Brothers, Phil Nicolo (Ms. Lauryn Hill, Billy Joel, BonJovi, Bob Dylan) of Phil’s Records.

Vulcans is an award(s) winning three-piece Americana/Folk-rock band hailing from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, but is now playing its way across the heart and mind of Pennsylvania. Disheartened by the overly produced and formulaic music, band members Nick Lindsay, Aaron Spangler, and John Thomas are in search of a more understated and traditional style of music, emphasizing unique harmonies, sincere lyrics, and tight musicality. From the listening rooms of central PA, to the bright lights of Philadelphia, to the stages of festivals like FireFly Music Festival, Vulcans seek to remind their audience of a time and place they once knew. It's time to come home.

Brandon Santini plays the Tap

Join us for great muisc, great craft beer, and great people. We're doing something special here and want you to be a part of it.

There are many different opinions as to what the future of the blues harmonica will be. Memphis vocalist and harmonica player Brandon Santini is undeniably a worthy player to keep an eye on as the latest surge of young blues artists leave their footprint in blues history. His name is worthy of conversations that include James Cotton, Kim Wilson, Dennis Gruenling, Charlie Musselwhite and other frontline harmonica players by combining his love and respect for traditional blues with a present, colorful style of playing that is often compared to James Cotton or Paul Butterfield. Raised in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, Brandon purchased his first harmonica in 1997 at the age of fifteen when his mother took him to the local music store upon his request. He founded the Blues Music Award nominated band Delta Highway in 2003 and relocated to Memphis where he absorbed the sounds and culture of the Delta and North Mississippi Hill Country, honing his craft night after night, sweating it out in local Beale Street clubs just like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and B.B. King did decades before him.

Matthew Runciman is a English born and American raised Canadian citizen. Much confusion has arisen from his lack of a national identity. Over the past 3 years, he has toured sustainably throughout much of the United States with his group, The Coteries. With as much kindness at his back as any American would expect of a Canadian, he is blessed to share his works with anyone and everyone who plans to be consuming a beverage at their local watering hole. Just like any good Canadian, he shares his tales of Americana at its finest, tangled in the midst of his lifelong American travels and adventures as he follows in the footsteps of The Band & Neil Young. Now based temporarily on the East Coast, he is piecing together his first full length solo effort with the help of some good friends and memorable evenings.

John Byrne Band plays the Tap

Join us for great music, great beer, and great people. We're doing something special here and want you to be a part of it.

Continue your St. Patrick's Day celebrating with us!

The John Byrne Band is led by Dublin native and Philadelphia-based John Byrne. Their debut album, After the Wake, was released to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic in 2011. With influences ranging from Tom Waits to Planxty, John’s songwriting honors and expands upon the musical and lyrical traditions of his native and adopted homes. John and the band followed up After the Wake in early 2013 with an album of Celtic and American traditional tunes. The album, Celtic/Folk, pushed the band on to the FolkDJ Charts, reaching number 36 in May 2015. Their third release, another collection of John Byrne originals, entitled “The Immigrant and the Orphan”, was released in Sept 2015. The album, once again, draws heavily on John’s love of Americana and Celtic Folk music and with the support of DJs around the country entered the FolkDJ Charts at number 40. Critics have called it “..a powerful, deeply moving work that will stay with you long after you have heard it” (Michael Tearson-Sing Out); “The Vibe of it (The Immigrant and the Orphan) is, at once, as rough as rock and as elegant as a calm ocean..each song on this album carries an honesty, integrity and quiet passion that will draw you into its world for years to come” (Terry Roland – No Depression); “If any element of Celtic, Americana or Indie-Folk is your thing, then this album is an absolute yes” (Beehive Candy); “It’s a gorgeous, nostalgic record filled with themes of loss, hope, history and lost loves; everything that tugs at your soul and spills your blood and guts…The Immigrant and the Orphan scorches the earth and emerges tough as nails” (Jane Roser – That Music Mag)

The John Byrne Band, however, is as much at home in a traditional session at a corner bar as it is in larger venues/festivals and opening for national acts. John has toured with or opened up for acts as diverse as The Hothouse Flowers, Ian Gillan (of Deep Purple), Patti Smyth, Gaelic Storm, Finbar Furey, Luka Bloom, The Saw Doctors, The Screaming Orphans, Solas and The Greencards. In Fall, 2012, John and the Band performed with The Irish Tenors for the Liberty Medal Presentation at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia before President Bill Clinton and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Join us for great music, great beer, and great people. We're doing something special here and want you to be a part of it.

They say that classics never go out of style. The Ethan Jano Band adheres to that school of thought. Lying somewhere between Buddy Holly and Black Sabbath is The EJB- a band made up of four members that pull from their different influences and come together to equal something far greater than their individual parts. The band is firmly rooted in Rock N' Roll and its many styles- but its more than that, this is 2017 not 1977 after all. The music is a melting pot of peculiar yet familiar sounds. This is dirty Rock N' Roll that your conservative Grandpa and your wild teenager can agree on. Calling Somerset, PA their home, The Ethan Jano Band has been cutting there teeth around the east coast of the US for more than a couple years. With two full-lengths under their belts, and plans to release a trilogy of extended plays in 2017, The EJB is no stranger to hardwork, persistence, and perseverance. Combining intimate lyricism, thought provoking instrumentation, and intense live shows The Ethan Jano Band "is never boring, always interesting, and a breathe of fresh air from a voice with finally something worth saying."-The Big Takeover(Cody Conrad)
